EPIC FC wins National Championship

Culminating what has been an amazing ride, Epic FC came home victorious as the U14 National Champions. In a come from behind second half victory, Epic out played Team BC in the second half to win the National Championship 2-1. Some great goaltending by Toronto Epic goalie, Shafique Wilson who made a few spectacular saves in the first half and a second half goal that stood up by Tristan Quattropani, ended what can only be described as an amazing season by EPIC FC

Toronto Epic and its players also figured prominently in the awards ceremony. At the beginning of the closing ceremonies, the team made a presentation to the St. John’s Soccer Club, donating all the equipment they used during the tournament (including soccer balls, bibs, and practice cones) to the host club.

While he didn’t score in the championship game, Epic FC’s Ronaldo Marshall was recognized as the top scorer in the boy’s tournament. In addition, the team, which had spent part of its day off helping out at a local community shelter, was awarded Canada Soccer’s Fair Play award for their outstanding sportsmanship on and off the field.
